Dr. Melissa Lambright is thrilled to service the community she loves and lives in with her husband, Aaron, daughters Kate and Charlotte, and their chocolate lab, Molly. Her desire to structure her practice around education and preventative care was inspired by her own mother's experience with an episode of blindness, which led to the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr. Lambright understands that the health of the eye can help in the diagnosis and monitoring of systemic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension in conjunction with your primary care physician or specialist. Dr. Lambright experienced this first hand as an optometrist and clinical instructor at the Newington and West Haven VA hospitals, when she taught residents and students about ocular disease.
Dr. Lambright received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Michigan, her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed a residency at the New England College of Optometry. Her clinical expertise was structured around pediatrics, ocular disease and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Lambright currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Optometric Association.
Outside of the practice, her energy is focused on volunteerism. She works towards the advancement of underprivileged women and children throughout Harford County with the Junior League of Hartford and donates her services to health fairs and national programs such as InfantSEE with the Connecticut Association of Optometrists.
